Into The Woods
There is something special and free about not being tied to the clock. The irony of today is that we seem to have more ‘time-saving' devices than ever before, and yet, quite simply, less time?!
Spending much of our lives working to deadlines and beavering away for the next appointment, next meeting, or the next project it can be so easy not to appreciate the beauty of now. Yes, I am guilty of this too!
A recent trip on my bike to scoop up some eggs on a beautiful May afternoon, and with no deadlines or ‘jobs’ to get back to, saw me taking a little mini adventure down to the woods with my camera….
WOW……this certainly did not disappoint.
The warmth of the golden sunlight streaming through and illuminating the fresh foliage of the beech trees and wise old oaks, the wild garlic carpeting the woodland floor and seemingly bursting out of hedgerows and the magical bluebell drifts that fill the air with a happy and vibrant scent of spring.
The ‘icing on the cake’ was to see a hare sitting on the pathway directly ahead of me, just taking a moment to sit and stare. Then, almost within minutes, I spotted a very young deer. Two of my favourite woodland animals in a matter of moments.
What precious moments. Moments that I treasure but are also somewhat difficult to capture on camera. Part of me wants to just be but part of me wants to try and capture just some of that beauty forever.
Anyway, here are a few….I hope you like them and remember to try to allow some time in your day/week to just be.
